Why the town matters
Connecticut does not have one roofing standard. Appendix AY of the 2022 State Building Code assigns every municipality its own ultimate design wind speed and ground snow load, and those figures range from 115 to 129 mph and from 30 to 40 psf depending on where the house is. They set the fastener schedule, the underlayment, and whether the deck has to be sealed on a tear-off.
The permit is local too. Each of the 169 towns runs its own building department, on its own staffing, with its own inspection availability. A specification and a schedule that were right one town over are not automatically right here.
These pages exist so you can check the figures for your own town before anyone quotes you. Every number comes from the state code table or the state's list of municipal building officials, and every page says where it came from.
